The Role
As a Senior Structural Designer at PEC, you will lead the design and documentation of structural systems across a diverse range of projects. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and clients to develop innovative, buildable, and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead structural design and documentation for residential, commercial, and industrial projects
Prepare detailed drawings, models, and specifications using industry-standard software
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
Review and mentor junior designers and drafters
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and relevant codes
Contribute to design innovation and continuous improvement within the business
About You
Proven experience as a Structural Designer within an engineering consultancy
Strong proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Tekla
Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and construction methodologies
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our leadership team and drive the delivery of technically robust, innovative, and commercially sound projects.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, influence design direction, and play a key role in shaping the future of PEC.
The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer at PEC, you will lead the structural design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, from concept through to construction. You will work closely with clients, architects, and contractors, ensuring high-quality outcomes while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the strategic growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead structural analysis and design across residential, commercial, and industrial projects
Manage projects from concept design through to construction phase support
Liaise directly with clients, architects, and builders to deliver practical and efficient solutions
Review and approve design documentation, drawings, and calculations
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, codes, and best practice
Contribute to business development, client relationships, and project acquisition
About You
Degree-qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering
Chartered (CPEng) or working towards chartership (Engineers Australia)
Strong experience within an engineering consultancy environment
Advanced knowledge of structural design principles and Australian Standards
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g. SpaceGass, ETABS, Strand7)
Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
Commercially aware with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
